Template of the Week 📕
This format taps into a recent problem (a bug, breach, or outage) to establish urgency and empathy without blame. It positions the sender as a problem-solver, not a vendor - suggesting a fresh resourcing strategy without ever pitching the solution directly.
What we’re pitching: Tech recruitment services.
John, I saw Monzo had to ship an emergency patch after that WebSocket auth issue last quarter - must’ve been a seriously tough week, hope you’ve come through in the crunch!
At your scale, these things can happen, as you know better than most.
But pulling core engineers off the roadmap always stings.
Some teams are now spinning up external “stability squads” - built to handle fires fast, so your core team can stay focused on the mission: building the most intelligent, human banking experience.
Mind if I share more info on how this could work for you?
Tutorial of the Week 🏫
Tool of the Week ⚙️
Serper.dev
What it does: Scrapes Google Search at scale for dirt cheap - pulling live SERP data, page metadata, maps listings, and more.
Why it’s valuable: Great for GTM teams building trigger-based campaigns (e.g. companies ranking for “top fintech apps 2024”) or surfacing fresh leads from niche search terms - without burning your budget on proxies.
Next steps: Try Serper and test a few queries for outreach inspiration or research.
Tip of the Week 💡
Normalise company names before you drop them into outreach.
Nothing screams “automated” like saying “I saw you’re the VP at SentiTech Holdings Group LLC.” Clean, casual language builds trust. Prospects talk about their company like a person, not a filing. You should too.
Use this prompt to make it effortless:
Prompt:
Normalise the following company name to how a colleague at the company would casually refer to it.
Instructions:
Keep only the distinctive parts
Remove suffixes like “Inc”, “Group”, “Holdings”, etc.
Use acronyms only if natural
Don’t use full stops
Example Output:
Company name: Bernstein Private Wealth Management
→ Bernstein
Company name: JP Morgan Chase & Co.
→ JPM
